Fast and slow hip and <br />torso movements, shimmies, bellyrolls, zills, posture and alignment, <br />plus an introduction to American Tribal Style group dancing.<br /><br /><br />* Tribal Bellydance Level 2A (Intermediate - new): Wednesdays 7:45pm - <br />9:00pm<br />* Tribal Bellydance Level 2B (Intermediate - returning): Thursdays <br />6:30pm -7:45pm<br />Continued study in Tribal Fusion and ATS Bellydance. Formations, <br />cueing, switching leads, eye contact, body language, rhythm, and <br />other basic ATS concepts will be covered, as well as intermediate <br />level hip and torso movements, shimmies, bellyrolls, zills, and work <br />with props.<br />Prior instruction Tribal Bellydance Level 1 or other previous <br />bellydance training is recommended for enrollment.<br /><br /><br />* Tribal Bellydance Level 3 (Advanced): Tuesdays 6:15pm - 7:30pm<br />Continued exploration of concepts in Tribal Fusion and American <br />Tribal Style Bellydance. Complex steps, formations, and rhythms for <br />duets, trios, and larger groups, plus performance preparation and <br />advanced work with props.<br />Prior instruction in Tribal Bellydance Level 2 is required for <br />enrollment.<br /><br />American Tribal Style Bellydance is a format for group <br />improvisation with two or more dancers, and is a blend of Egyptian <br />bellydance and the folkloric dances of the Middle East and North <br />Africa, with stylistic influences from Flamenco and Indian Kathak <br />dance.<br /><br />Tribal Fusion Bellydance reintegrates the elements of traditional <br />Bellydance into the stylistic approach of American Tribal Style, <br />creating a new style for the 21st century. It includes solo dancing <br />that expresses individual musical interpretation, as well as prop <br />dances including sword, veil, and candles.<br /><br />As the emphasis in this dance is one of feminine power, dignity, <br />strength, mystery, and sensuality, it is a dance form that women (and men) of <br />all body types and ages can enjoy.
